Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Coventry City

Head coach Steve Cooper names an unchanged starting line-up for Nottingham Forest’s clash with Coventry City this evening.

It is the start of a big week for the Reds, with a City Ground double-header on the cards as they chase a top-six spot. And first up is a meeting with the Sky Blues.

Forest go into the game on the back of an emphatic 4-1 win at Blackpool last time out. A Brennan Johnson brace, and goals from Philip Zinckernagel and Sam Surridge clinched the three points at Bloomfield Road.

That made it eight league games unbeaten for Cooper’s men as they returned from the international break in style. And ahead of kick-off tonight, they are eighth in the table, just one point below the play-off places.

Ethan Horvath was on the bench against the Seasiders, due to a late turnaround between the trip to the north west and his return from international duty. And he is among the substitutes again as Brice Samba keeps his place between the posts.

Scott McKenna made his return from injury at the weekend. His comeback allowed Cooper to revert to a three-man back line, and he sticks with that again as McKenna lines up alongside Joe Worrall and Tobias Figueiredo.

Jack Colback continues at left wing-back, in place of the injured Max Lowe, with Djed Spence on the right. James Garner and Ryan Yates keep their spots in the centre of the pitch.

Lewis Grabban also returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines against Blackpool, making an appearance from off the bench. He has to wait for his first start since recovering, as Keinan Davis continues up front, supported by Brennan Johnson and Philip Zinckernagel.

Making up the list of substitutes alongside Horvath and Grabban are Richie Laryea, Sam Surridge, Alex Mighten, Cafu and Joe Lolley.

Forest: Samba; Worrall, Figueiredo, McKenna; Spence, Yates, Garner, Colback; Johnson, Davis, Zinckernagel. Subs: Horvath, Laryea, Grabban, Surridge, Mighten, Cafu, Lolley.
