Boss Steve Cooper says “now is not the time” to be thinking about Lyle Taylor’s future as Nottingham Forest prepare to come up against Birmingham City.
The Reds striker made the move to St Andrew’s on loan in January, in a bid to find more game time. He has achieved that in the West Midlands, becoming a regular starter for the Blues.
And he has been finding the back of the net, too. A penalty to see off West Bromwich Albion at the weekend made it four goals in nine appearances for Taylor.

After his team’s 1-0 victory over the Baggies, Birmingham boss Lee Bowyer was coy over what might happen at the end of Taylor’s loan. But he did express his admiration for the front man and made clear he was enjoying his spell at the club.
Taylor will not be eligible to play when Forest host Bowyer’s men on Saturday. And the Reds head coach says any discussions about the 32-year-old’s situation will be left until after the end of the campaign.
“Now’s not the time to be thinking about that. Like we said at the start of the loan for him, go do well for the six months or so and then we’ll pick it up at the end of the season, like with all the other boys,” said Cooper.
“I’ve kept in touch with him. He’s been here a couple of times as well, since the loan.
“He’s benefitting from it, for sure. It’s been good to see him smiling.
“Like all players want to do, he wants to play. Birmingham have given him that opportunity. He, them and us have benefitted from it so far.”
