Boss Steve Cooper says Nottingham Forest defender Max Lowe remains some way off making his comeback.
The Sheffield United loanee has been sidelined since mid-March with a groin injury which was expected to keep him out for six weeks. It is the second time this season Lowe has had a spell out of action with a similar problem, albeit this one is said to be “slightly different” to the issue which hampered him around the turn of the year.
He has been joined on the treatment table by Keinan Davis, after the striker suffered a hamstring strain in last week’s defeat at Luton Town. The Aston Villa loanee is expected to be absent for about four to five weeks, meaning he will likely miss the remaining five games of the regular campaign - although there is a hope he could be involved should the Reds feature in the play-offs.

“Max is nowhere near playing. Mind you, we’ve only got two weeks left. But I think I saw him on the grass today doing some light running,” said Cooper. “Keinan is right at the early stages of a hamstring strain.
“Max is progressing. He’s had bad luck, to be fair. It’s not a nice situation for him, because he was doing so well for us on both occasions, and obviously having the set-backs. For him, personally, I’m sure at some stage he’ll come back stronger.”
Defender Steve Cook made his return from an ankle injury in Monday night’s 4-0 thumping of West Bromwich Albion. Like Lowe, he had been missing since the rout over Reading last month.
Front man Lewis Grabban will also be available for Saturday’s trip to Peterborough United. He was not included in the squad against the Baggies due to illness but has recovered in time to make the trip to London Road.
