Nottingham Forest 'bid' to sign Liverpool player who can leave for £15m

Liverpool are reportedly braced for further interest in right-back Neco Williams.

The Wales international impressed during the second half of last season on loan with Fulham. He helped the Cottagers earn automatic promotion to the Premier League and win the Championship title.

Williams will return to Merseyside this summer but there is growing expectation that he will not be a Liverpool player for much longer. Fulham are thought to be keen on a permanent deal for the defender, along with attacker Takumi Minamino, while another team have also said to have entered the race.

According to 90min, Nottingham Forest have now turned their attention to signing Williams this summer. The newly-promoted Premier League club, who won the Championship play-offs to go up alongside Fulham and Bournemouth, are looking for a right-back after appearing to miss out on Djed Spence to Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool will look for a fee in the region of £15million for Williams after placing the price tag on the 21-year-old for this summer’s transfer window.

The Reds are looking to strengthen the right-back department with the addition of Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen. Contact has been made with the Scottish Premiership club as a move for the 18-year-old edges closer.

It is understood Jurgen Klopp's side will be expected to pay a fee in the region of £4m to Aberdeen, with dialogue currently taking place over possible add-ons.
