Nottingham Forest and Everton make transfer 'enquires' over Leicester City target

Nottingham Forest have made "tentative enquires" about Swansea City striker Joel Piroe but face competition from Everton and Leicester City, it is claimed.

The 23-year-old has scored 41 goals during the two seasons he has spent in the Championship since arriving at the Welsh club in July 2021 from PSV Eindhoven.

His performances in English football's second tier have reportedly alerted him to the Foxes as new boss Enzo Maresca looks to rebuild them in his attempts to take Leicester straight back up to the top flight. But Forest could be set to rival their East Midlands rivals for his signature this summer.

Our colleagues at Wales Online claim that the Welsh side are "bracing themselves for a bid" with it claimed that Leicester are set to bid for him. However, they are not the only side reported to be interested in acquiring his services this summer.

Forest and Everton have also said to have made "tentative enquiries". However, they are yet to "firm up any interest with a serious approach."

And the report also claims that an unnamed Serie A side are also "in the running". Southampton are another team claimed to have shown interest but the "ongoing tension" between the two clubs may "complicate" a move to the South Coast.

Piroe told Eindhovens Dagblad last month: "Whether I will stay in Swansea for another year? There is a lot of speculation, but it remains to be seen whether something concrete will happen.

"It is nice to hear that clubs are interested. I mainly look at where I can play a lot and continue to take steps as a football player."
