Bus fares will soon be increasing across the county as Nottingham City Transport prepare to increase their prices next week. From Sunday, May 28, the average bus fare for the company will increase by 9.6 per cent, which is below the current inflation rate of 10.1 per cent.
Whilst short hop prices will be frozen at £1.50, a standard adult single ticket will increase to £2.80 whilst an all day ticket for Nottingham will cost £5.20. Similarly an all day ticket across the Nottingham City Transport network will now cost £7.50 for an adult.
Prices for those under 19, students and those travelling as a group have also increased, but remain cheaper than standard adult prices. Managing Director for NCT, David Astill said, “We’ve all had to contend with the cost of living situation which is affecting businesses, just as much as it is households.

"The government has been very understanding and has provided financial support since the lockdown of 2020. But even with that support, Nottingham City Transport has made a loss and that clearly isn’t sustainable going forward."
In addition to these changes, Lowdham and Burton Joyce will move from the City Zone to the Outer Zone on Easyrider, with the boundary brought in line with other tickets on Pathfinder 26 at Linden Grove/Carlton-le-Willows Academy.
