A Nottingham bar has closed, announcing it will only be opening for big group bookings. The Wine Room City announced on Instagram: "Due to our outside space we will only be opening for bookings over 20 people from now on forwards until the foreseeable future.
"Bespoke bookings such as birthdays, wakes, networkings and many other special occasions can be held at the Wine Room City." The bar opened in October 2021 and although it specialised in wine, it served beers, cocktails, gins and all other spirits.
Food was also served from small plates to a Sunday lunch. It featured on Channel Four's Come Dine With Me: The Professionals in July 2022, finishing joint second with Annie's Burger Shack and the Lobster Pot coming top.

The bar is located over two floors, with a small outdoor area, in High Pavement. Next door neighbour Paris Bar & Restaurant suddenly announced its closure last week.
Reviews for the bar are mostly positive. One person, who attended a single and mingle night there, said: "Lovely place warm and comforting. Great decor, modern and chic. Very clean and tidy. Polite, presentable and helpful staff. Really enjoyed the drinks."
But one man complained about the service, saying they must have been "invisible to bar staff." He said: "We thought enough is enough and decided to leave, my friend told the female supervisor/manager on the way out about the abysmal service but she was too busy on her phone to really care. Won't be going back that's for sure!"
Groups can book the bar by emailing bookings@thewineroomcity.com. The Wine Room also has a venue in Woodborough Road, Mapperley, where customers can get 25 percent off lunch if they download the app.
