Nothing will rival Samsung next month. The fledging tech brand, which took the world by storm last year, has confirmed its new Nothing Phone (2) will be unveiled on July 11 and it could be one to watch out for.
Although full details will be revealed next month, we already know that the 2nd generation device will get the much more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip under its shell.
That’s compared to last year's device which only included the mid-range Snapdragon 7 series chipset.
Other details remain scarce but it’s almost certain that the new call maker will feature the unique glowing Glyph interface which shines when calls and texts come through.
The design is also likely to stay the same with a see-through rear panel letting owners peer inside and see some of the internal technology.
Confirming the news Nothing said: “London-based consumer technology brand Nothing will be launching its next flagship device, Phone (2), on July 11 at 16:00 BST / 11:00 EST.”
Mirror Online will bring you all the news from the event live so watch this space for full details on July 11.
It’s going to be an exciting few weeks for phone launches with Samsung also thought to be planning a major unveiling in late July.
An update on the firm’s Australian Newsroom revealed the announcement but the post was taken offline soon after it was published. The message confirmed that the company will be refreshing its lineup of foldable and flippable devices although there is now plenty of confusion about why the webpage has been removed and if the showcase will actually take place.
If Samsung does hold an event in July it will be a dramatic change from the firm's normal launch cycle with its foldables usually getting updated during the month of August.
It's unclear why the announcement is being brought forward but it might have something to do with Samsung's rivals.
In recent months, a number of other tech firms, such as Oppo and Huawei, have launched devices that include bendable screens. Now we know Nothing is also planning a release, we're sure Samsung will be fighting back with a big reveal of its own very soon.
