'Nothing's happened' - Postecoglou responds to Juranovic Chelsea transfer link

Ange Postecoglou insists "nothing's happened" regarding a possible Chelsea move for Josip Juranovic.

The Celtic right-back has been linked with a host of clubs ahead of the January transfer window after impressing at club level and also for his country at the World Cup.

Chelsea are reported interested suitors for Juranovic after an injury to Reece James.

However, Postecoglou last night claimed he hadn't heard any update on the full-back regarding a possible move next month.

Instead, the Celtic boss batted off the speculation as he vowed to build a stronger squad throughout the January window.

Quizzed on the Juranovic to Chelsea link, Postecoglou said: "I can say I’ve heard nothing about Josip Juranovic. Nothing’s happened.

"As I said a week or so ago, the speculation is what it is. What I know is we are in a really good space as a club.

"Going into January we have already strengthened and hopefully, we’ll strengthen further.

"I’m in no doubt by the end of January we’ll have a stronger squad than we did going into it."

Juranovic was on the bench for Celtic against Hibs last night but didn't feature in the 4-0 win.

Postecoglou had stated it was unlikely for Juranovic to play after a "minor injury" during his World Cup thrid place run with Croatia.

The Parkhead boss had said: "It is unlikely. He will get back but because he had a minor injury as well, he probably hasn't done too much. We will assess him when he gets in but I think it is unlikely."
