'Nothing's going to change' - Richard Keys makes Bill Kenwright claim after Everton fan protests

Richard Keys has questioned why some Everton supporters are protesting against Bill Kenwright - suggesting that 'nothing' would change if the chairman was forced out of the club.

A banner reading ' 22 YEARS OF FAILURE BILL @ TIME2GOBILL' was flown above Goodison Park before Everton's game against Aston Villa on Saturday.

And after the managerless Blues suffered their 10th defeat in 14 Premier League matches, fans staged a sit-in protest in the Gwladys Street and Park End stands.

Upon leaving the ground, Kenwright was then interrogated by supporters outside and took time to speak with those demanding answers.

That was picked up by former Sky Sports presenter Keys.

“Again, they are after Bill. I really don’t understand that at all," Keys told beIN SPORTS

“Were he to quit tonight, Bill Kenwright, nothing’s going to change at all. Nothing.

“He has no influence really at the football club now, beyond what he has been asked in recent weeks to pick up.

"And that is talking to players about contracts because of course Benitez saw off Marcel Brands and there’s no one to do that job."

Everton sacked Benitez as manager earlier this month after a disastrous reign, which came after the departure of director of football, Brands.

Duncan Ferguson has been placed in charge of the Blues on a caretaker basis.
