'Nothing compares' - Thiago Alcantara makes 'dangerous' Liverpool admission after Leicester City win

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has said it's 'the most amazing feeling' being back out on the pitch and has commented on his side's desire to stay on the front foot.

The Spain international was in fine form on Thursday night, as the Reds coasted to a 2-0 win over strugglers Leicester City.

Diogo Jota continued his red-hot form in front of goal with a brace, although plenty left Anfield purring over the performance of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man, who exerted an elegant stranglehold over the midfield battle.

This season the Reds have won every game Thiago has started in, although his campaign has been punctured by fitness problems.

Speaking to LFCTV after the game, the 30-year-old said he was delighted to be back in action.

"For sure mate," Thiago said. "It's the most amazing feeling in the week because you train and training for sure is important. But nothing compares in our life than when we step on this grass and we play the game."

He was also asked about the nature of the win against Leicester, as Jota's second goal didn't come until the 87th minute, meaning the Foxes were still feasibly in with a chance of earning a point despite offering little throughout.

When it was put to Thiago that a 1-0 scoreline can be difficult to manage, he disagreed.

"Not for us," said the playmaker. "Not dangerous. I think it's a paradise situation when you assign the game 0-0, you are Liverpool and you have the desire to win the game.

"0-0 for us is like losing 1-0. So when we score at 1-0 [it] opens everything for us. We keep playing, we keep pushing and in the end we want to score more goals."

With nine points separating Liverpool and league leaders Manchester City - the Reds have a game in hand too - plus three other pieces of silverware to play for, manager Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to get Thiago on the pitch for as many key games as possible.
