The Miami Dolphins, for the second time this offseason, welcomed the media in for their organized team activity session on Wednesday at the Baptist Health Training Complex.
Head coach Mike McDaniel has opted to run with just six OTA sessions instead of the 10 that teams are allowed, as he explained in 2022 that it’s about the quality of the work rather than the quantity of it.
With the fifth day of practice wrapping up on Wednesday afternoon, here’s what those in attendance saw from the aqua and orange on the practice field.
Practice player of the day
The honor was earned by fullback Alec Ingold on Tuesday, so he got to don the jersey on Wednesday and set the playlist for practice. Ingold wore orange last offseason, but this is his first time in 2023.

Phillips gives a lot of folks issues, run/pass. Had sacks/TFLs. The pass rush vs. pass pro in general I would say was relatively neutral…

Jaylen Twyman made a couple of plays that popped – said the same thing last week. Seems as though the DL depth is wide open and he’s made a good case for himself in the two practices the media got to see.

Practice schedule going forward
Wednesday was Miami’s fifth OTA, and they have one more coming up on Friday, June 2.
Following that, the team will come together for mandatory minicamp June 6-8 before breaking until training camp, which will likely begin in late July.
While we don’t know the date that camp begins, we do know that Miami will host the Atlanta Falcons for joint practices August 8-9 before their preseason contest on August 11. The Dolphins will also have joint practices with the Houston Texans from August 16-17.
