If not for being one of the greatest baseball players in the history of the sport, Mike Trout would probably still be on TV every night reading tomorrow’s forecast.
The Los Angeles Angels mega-star has long been known as a weather nerd and it’s not really something he tries to hide. Between constant appearances on The Weather Channel and his amateur storm chasing videos on social media, it seems Trout’s love of clouds extends well beyond the pitches he launches into them.
And with that love comes respect for those who have been covering the weather long before Trout’s interest began—including a local weatherman who Trout grew up watching in Millville, New Jersey named Glenn Schwartz.
Affectionately known as Hurricane, Schwartz’s nearly 30-year run as a Philadelphia meteorologist came to an end this week and Trout made sure to join in the retirement celebrations, utterly stunning Schwartz in the process.
