Notable offseason dates for the Titans in February

The Tennessee Titans are already having a busy offseason, with the team hiring a new head coach and staff, but things will really pick up in March with free agency, and then in April when the 2024 NFL draft begins.

But before those major events, there are some important offseason dates to note in February that could impact both free agency and the draft, with the Senior Bowl and the start of the franchise tag window upcoming.

Of course, the Titans don’t have anyone to actually utilize the franchise tag on, but that process could impact who Tennessee can target in free agency.

Now, a look at the most notable offseason dates for the month of February.

Thursday, Feb. 1: East-West Shrine Bowl

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The East-West Shrine Bowl took place on Thursday and is one of the first chances teams get to take a look at some draft prospects. Four Titans assistants in total were on the coaching staffs.

For more on the East-West Shrine Bowl results and who some of the biggest standouts were, Chad Reuter of NFL.com has you covered.

Saturday, Feb. 3: Senior Bowl

Vasha Hunt-USA TODAY Sports

The Senior Bowl is yet another significant pre-draft event and gives college players who are coming out in this year’s draft class the opportunity to showcase their stuff for NFL teams.

Prior to the actual game, there’s multiple practices that often garner more attention than the actual game itself. Our friends over at Draft Wire have recaps for Day 1 and Day 2 of said practices.

Sunday, Feb. 4: Pro Bowl Games

Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

This might be the last time running back Derrick Henry represents the Titans during his career. Henry is set to be a free agent in 2024 and his future in Nashville remains murky.

Sunday, Feb. 11: Super Bowl LVIII

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will officially close out the 2023 campaign in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

Sunday, Feb. 20: Start of franchise/transition tag window

End date: Thursday, Mar. 5 at 4 p.m. EST

The Titans won’t be franchise-tagging anyone this offseason but some of the free agents that they may have their eyes on could get one, like Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, Tee Higgins, for example.

Sunday, Feb. 26: Start of NFL Scouting Combine

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

End date: Thursday, Mar. 4

The Titans and the rest of the NFL will get an up-close-and-personal look at this year’s draft class and the roster of players will be much more prominent than at the Senior Bowl.

On top of watching them work out, teams will also have an opportunity to speak to players over the week-long event in Indianapolis.

Player workouts begin on Thursday, Feb. 29. You can check out the full schedule of workouts on NFL.com.
