'Not looking good' - Manchester United fans have same fear after Leeds sack Jesse Marsch

Manchester United fans have suggested that Leeds United might be boosted by a 'new manager bounce' for their two games against the Reds after the Whites sacked manager Jesse Marsch.

Marsch was sacked by the Yorkshire club following Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, with the American coach having spent less than a year at the helm. He succeeded Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road towards the end of last season and managed to keep the Whites in the Premier League.

However, Leeds have struggled this term and are without a top-flight victory since November. Under his management, the club have won just two of their last 17 Premier League matches.

Leeds will look to appoint a new manager in the coming days, but it remains to be seen if they will have a new boss in charge ahead of the back-to-back fixtures with United. The Reds welcome the Whites to Old Trafford on Wednesday night, before travelling to Elland Road on Sunday.

With Leeds' next two matches coming against Erik ten Hag's side, United fans were quick to react to the news of Marsch's sacking - and many suggested that his dismissal came at the wrong time for the Reds. Here's how some supporters responded on social media...

A club statement from Leeds read: "Leeds United can confirm head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties.

"Jesse joined the club in February 2022 and was instrumental in keeping the club in the Premier League on the final day of last season. Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu will also leave the club.

"We would like to thank Jesse and his backroom staff for their efforts and wish them well for the future. The process of appointing a new head coach is underway and we will continue to keep supporters up to date throughout the coming days."
