A transport company and two executives have pleaded not guilty to criminal charges brought over a 2020 truck crash that killed four Victoria Police officers.
On Monday, Connect Logistics, managing director Corey Matthews and national operations manager Cris Large pleaded not guilty at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court.
Four police officers were killed while on duty on Melbourne's Eastern Freeway on April 22, 2020 in what was the single greatest loss of life in Victoria Police history.
They had stopped a speeding Porsche driven by Richard Pusey when the collision occurred.
Mohinder Singh, the driver of the truck was high and sleep deprived when he slammed into the police officers on the side of the freeway. He was jailed for 22 years in April 2021.
After an investigation by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, police brought charges against Connect Logistics and three executives in 2021.
Connect Logistics was charged with category 1 and category 2 offences under the Heavy Vehicle National Law while Matthews, Large and state manager Shane Chalmers were charged with breaching their duties as executives.
Connect Logistics, Matthews and Large will next come before court on November 14.
Chalmers, who pleaded guilty on Monday, will appear in court on August 29.
