Danny Welbeck has suggested it is no longer 'weird' facing off against former club Manchester United as the Brighton ace prepares for the FA Cup semi-final clash between the two sides.
The 32-year-old made 142 appearances for the Reds during his time at Old Trafford, registering 29 goals and 21 assists. He left the club in September 2014 to join Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Now, Welbeck, who has scored four goals against United in his career, is playing for Brighton and has impressed for the Seagulls so far this season - having managed eight goal contributions for Roberto De Zerbi's side. The attacker is expected to start against the Reds at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

"I’ve played games against United multiple times now, and it’s now not as weird as it once was," said Welbeck. "It was worse when I went to Old Trafford. You go there into the away dressing room and you’re warming up on a different side of the pitch, and walking out on the other side.
"It’s just little weird things like that, because you’re so used to going to a certain place. And early on I was playing against players I’ve been with previously."
Welbeck went on to suggest the big game experience some of the Brighton players have under their belts can help the Seagulls reach the FA Cup final at the expense of United.
He added: "We have players who have won trophies and the latest one is Alexis (Mac Allister) who has won the World Cup. So, to have players like that in the team it’s always massive just to pass on – it might be something small but it might be key – advice and little things like that. It goes a long way."
The striker grabbed his third goal in eight games when he came off the bench to score against Chelsea last weekend, with De Zerbi's men having secured a 2-1 victory over the London outfit.
