Norwich City vs Chelsea: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results - match preview

Chelsea will look to continue their impressive Premier League form in a clash with Norwich tonight.

This game has been moved as a result of Thomas Tuchel’s side progressing through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where they will meet Championship outfit Middlesbrough next weekend.

The imminent sale of the club by Roman Abramovich after almost 20 years has the potential to be a massive distraction for Chelsea, but they managed to put those issues to one side as they brushed aside Burnley 4-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The reigning European and world club champions have bounced back well from their dramatic Carabao Cup Final defeat by Liverpool at Wembley, now winning their last three top-flight matches without conceding as they hope to keep that grip on third place.

Lowly Norwich, meanwhile, currently sit at the foot of the table and five points adrift of safety with only 11 matches left to play this term after their run of successive losses stretched to four with a frustrating 3-1 home defeat by out-of-form Brentford at the weekend.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Norwich vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 7:30pm GMT kick-off tonight, Thursday March 10, 2022.

The match will take place at Carrow Road in Norwich.

Norwich vs Chelsea team news

Norwich remain without Republic of Ireland duo Adam Idah (knee) and Andrew Omobamidele (back). Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour is ineligible to face his parent club but Max Aarons and Lukas Rupp are available.

As for the visitors, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are now back in training at Cobham after missing the last two matches through injury and illness respectively.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is fit, while Ben Chilwell remains out for the season after knee surgery despite getting out onto the grass this week.

Reece James will miss out after suffering a fresh muscle problem. Tuchel said on Wednesday: “It is obvious what he gives to our team so not good news at the moment. A setback for sure, I hope not a big one.”

Norwich vs Chelsea prediction

Time is running out for Norwich, with manager Dean Smith having described the game against former club Brentford as “must not lose”.

But lose they continue to do, with only two home wins all season for the Canaries.

The visit of a confident Chelsea side banishing off-field distractions is a difficult test indeed, with their only hope that Tuchel’s men become weary with a fixture pile-up.

All signs point towards a comfortable away win, however.

Chelsea to win, 2-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results
