Norwegian Cruise Line improves a passenger perk

Some people want to completely disconnect while on a cruise vacation. But for many others, remaining connected is essential.

Whether they need to check in at work or with family at home, some passengers need to make sure they’ll be able to access WiFi during their cruise.

In the past, cruise ship WiFi was generally considered unreliable, but most services have improved within the last couple of years as most cruise lines upgraded their onboard internet service to SpaceX’s high-speed Starlink satellite connectivity.

Now it’s easier for passengers to stay connected at sea as long as they purchase a WiFi package or receive internet access as part of another cruise package. A WiFi package can be an expensive cruise add-on though, especially on longer cruises since most cruise lines charge a daily fee for internet connectivity.

For passengers who don’t need unlimited WiFi access during their cruise but want to remain connected, Norwegian Cruise Line’s new More At Sea cruise package can be an attractive option since it offers a set number of WiFi minutes, plus other add-ons like a beverage package and specialty dining meals.

However, some Norwegian Cruise Line passengers booked on longer cruises this year have been concerned that More At Sea might not provide enough WiFi minutes to keep them connected for the duration of their cruise.

Norwegian Cruise Line responds to passenger feedback on WiFi package

When Norwegian Cruise Line’s new More At Sea cruise package launched at the start of 2025, it included 150 Wi-Fi minutes for each passenger on voyages of seven nights or longer. Since the cruise line’s previous Free At Sea package offered 300 WiFi minutes per passenger for the first two passengers in a stateroom on cruises of 12 nights or longer, passengers wanted the same number of minutes or more with More At Sea.

Luckily, the cruise line responded quickly to passenger feedback about the included WiFi minutes and made a change to address the concerns.

Effective immediately, Norwegian Cruise Line has enhanced the WiFi package for longer cruises, doubling the amount of WiFi minutes included for passengers sailing with More At Sea benefits. The upgrade gives passengers sailing on cruises of 12 nights or longer 300 Wi-Fi minutes per passenger with the More At Sea cruise package.

The More At Sea WiFi package is available to all passengers in a stateroom and provides one login per passenger that can be used on one device at a time.

Passengers who want more WiFi minutes can upgrade to Norwegian’s Voyage WiFi Pass for $29.99 per stateroom per day or Streaming Voyage WiFi Pass for $39.99 per stateroom per day.

Only when WiFi is upgraded to one of the aforementioned packages, extra devices are $14.99 per device per day, available for purchase once on board.

More At Sea also gives passengers more specialty dining meals

Passengers sailing with Norwegian’s More At Sea cruise package get more specialty dining meals included on longer cruises too.

On cruises of 12 nights or longer, the first two passengers in studio, inside or oceanview staterooms get three specialty dining meals included with their package. In stateroom categories of balcony or above, the first two passengers in a stateroom get five specialty dining meals included with More At Sea on cruises of 12 nights or longer.

With More At Sea, passengers can also enjoy more appetizers and desserts with the opportunity to order up to three appetizers and three desserts at each meal.

For specialty dining meals included with More At Sea, passengers pay a per-package price that varies based on stateroom category and sailing length. For any additional specialty meals beyond those included in their package, passengers pay the restaurant’s cover charge.

Passengers can choose to add More At Sea to their cruise during the promotion selection portion of the booking process. The promotion must be selected at least 24 hours prior to sailing and cannot be changed on board.
