Norway boss makes Erling Haaland admission ahead of Man City's Champions League final vs Inter Milan

Norway head coach Stale Solbakken has admitted there is no rush for Erling Haaland to join his national team following Manchester City's Champions League final against Inter Milan this weekend.

Solbakken called up the Blues' talisman to the Norway squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Scotland and Cyprus on June 17 and 20 respectively. However, two days prior to the team meeting up at their training camp, Haaland and City will be aiming to win the treble against the Serie A giants.

With reports suggesting City could be celebrating their success this season with a parade in Manchester on Monday, the 55-year-old was asked whether a problem could arise should Haaland not be able to attend the first days of the international camp. In response, Solbakken played down any concerns.

"What we have to respect is that if Man City wins the final and takes the treble, it means that even the best players will not get to experience it again," he explained via Fotball Norge. "We have not received clarity on when a possible celebration will take place.

"They have a lot of people who will play international matches, so I think we will find a golden balance that makes Haaland fit for our international matches. It is not a crisis if he comes on Monday or Tuesday, as long as he can train the tactical sessions."

Haaland has yet to feature for Norway during this qualification period after he was forced to withdraw from the March training camp due to injury.
