Northern Rail has sent a stark three word warning to all passengers ahead of further strike dates in November.

Rail customers are being told "do not travel" on three separate days next month. Action will take place on Saturday, November 5, Monday, November 7, and Wednesday, November 9.

People are also being advised to "check before you travel" on Sunday, November 6, Tuesday, November 8, and Thursday, November 10, as services will not be able to start until "much later" than usual.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union are walking out in an ongoing row over pay and working conditions.

A strike was previously announced for Thursday, November 3. However this has been cancelled by RMT and Northern trains will be operating as usual on this day.

Tricia Williams, chief operating officer at Northern, said: “We apologise again for the significant disruption and inconvenience this action by the RMT will cause to our customers.

“We all want to see an end to this dispute and hope that discussions between the industry and trade unions will lead to a resolution soon so that we can avoid more disruptive strikes in the future.”
