Winds will be lighter later on and a light and cool, clear evening can be expected with some rural frost likely.

More cloud is expected in the night, with a minimum temperature of 6C and some morning rain.

For Saturday, the Met Office added: "Early blustery rain, heavier spells likely, clearing east by mid morning accompanied by fresh westerly winds. Some sunny spells developing in the afternoon but potentially more showers later. Maximum temperature 12C."

And for the outlook for Sunday to Tuesday, the forecaster said: "Showery, cool weather continuing later in the weekend and Monday, likely to be windy too, perhaps some drier and brighter weather by Tuesday."
