Northern Ireland weather: Met Office issues heavy rain warning

The Met Office is warning of heavy rain on Friday.

The Yellow Warning, issued at around 10am on Thursday, will be in force from midnight tonight until 10am on Friday morning.

Forecasters are warning of: “Heavy rain bringing some flooding and travel disruption in places.”

The bad weather alert covers all of Northern Ireland and across to Scotland.

The warning alert adds that people should expect: “Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer” and “Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer”.

The rest of today, according to forecasts, is expected to be relatively mild with temperatures of around 5C. The rest of Friday is milder again with temperatures of around 7/8C and some sunshine.
