Temperatures reached 24.9C in Porthmadog, North Wales, beating Sunday’s 2023 record of 24.4C in Plymouth.

Met Éireann said they “have provisionally recorded the highest air temperature so far this year” with 25.0C reported at their automatic station in Inagh, Co Clare and 24.7C at their manned station in Shannon Airport, Co Clare.
Today’s sunshine did not, however, reach the all-time record breaking highs of 31.3C on July 21 last year. That was a year for record breakers with Ballywatticock seeing 31.2C just four days previously.
