Huddersfield Town teenager showed a lot of energy in his first start. His inexperience told in Kosovo’s second goal but he atoned with a cross for Lavery’s goal.
DANIEL BALLARD 7
Picked out Spencer Beattie with a clever pass for Lavery’s goal and headed home for Northern Ireland’s second goal of the night late on. Impressive performance.
JONNY EVANS 6
Looped an early header over the bar and endured a backs-to-the-wall evening as Kosovo threatened to play through Northern Ireland at will.
CIARON BROWN 5
Started on the left hand side of defence and had a busy night as Kosovo dominated proceedings from start to finish.
STEVEN DAVIS 5.5
Was holding his head in his hands early doors after conceding a penalty. Struggled to stem the flow of Kosovan possession.
GEORGE SAVILLE 5
Played mostly in a deeper lying role but saw an early shot deflected over the bar after a slick move involving a handful of players. Eventually made way for Jordan Thompson.
ALI McCANN 5
Handed an advanced role in midfield three and Preston midfielder picked up pockets of space, but struggled to make an impact before being replaced by Shea Charles.
CONOR McMENAMIN 6
Glentoran forward was nutmegged in the build-up for Kosovo’s second goal but provided a lively outlet on the left wing. Almost equalised five minutes from time.
SHAYNE LAVERY 6
Blackpool striker had few opportunities to influence the game on the left flank but got Northern Ireland back in the hunt with his second international goal. Replaced by Whyte.
KYLE LAFFERTY 5.5
Kilmarnock striker tried to provide a focal point and worked hard. Won his flick-ons and linked up with teammates without little reward. Eventually replaced by Dion Charles.
