Northern Ireland donut company to create jobs after landing deal with Asda

A Northern Ireland donut company has landed a deal which will see four concessions opened in Asda and the creation of new jobs.

Taboo will supply six product lines to the supermarket's branches in Bangor, Coleraine, Portadown, and Antrim in what it describeds as an exclusive deal. The move follows the successful opening of the concession in the Enniskillen Asda and, along with donuts, will see it supply gelato, cookies and brownies.

Founded in 2018, the family run firm employs around 40 people across two stores in Belfast's Ann Street and Fountain Street.

Brett McKinney, Director of Taboo Donuts, welcomed the deal.

“We are thrilled to bring our locally produced, high quality products to more Asda shoppers," he said. @The growing partnership with Asda is a massive opportunity for us and these concessions will allow us to create new job opportunities in the local areas which is just fantastic.”

The concession model is one which is relatively to the supermarket, George Rankin, Senior Director Asda NI, said.

“The Taboo concession in Asda Enniskillen was the first of its kind in our Northern Irish stores and we are delighted to be able to share that offering with more customers at four more stores," he said.
