Northern Ireland defender Daniel Ballard in the dark over long-term future

Northern Ireland defender Daniel Ballard has admitted he is in the dark over his long-term future.

Ballard has been impressing on a season-long loan at Millwall from Arsenal this season.

The 22-year-old has made 25 appearances in the EFL Championship and featured twice in the Carabao Cup.

Millwall boss Gary Rowett wants to keep him, either on-loan again next season or on a permanent basis.

But Ballard has yet to discuss his future with Arsenal and he said: “We haven’t spoken about that yet.

“I’m sure it’s something that will be discussed after the end of this season.

“I have to see what the loan manager says and what they feel is best for me.

“At the moment I’m fully focussed on helping Millwall finish as high up the table as possible.

“I’m really enjoying my time here. It’s a brilliant group of lads, the spirit in the dressing room is great.”

Ballard is currently on international duty with Northern Ireland for this month's friendlies against Luxembourg and Hungary.
