North Macedonia's president has sent a warning to Manchester United and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of his country's crucial World Cup qualifying match.
Ronaldo's Portugal were 3-1 victors against Turkey in their first World Cup play-off match with goals from Otavio, Diogo Jota and Matheus Nunes securing the win. However, the story of the round came in Palermo.
European champions Italy were stunned 1-0 by North Macedonia thanks to an Aleksandar Trajkovski stoppage-time goal. The victory ended the Italians' chances of qualifying for the showpiece event in the winter.

Understandably, excitement is building in North Macedonia with their country just 90 minutes away from the World Cup finals. Optimism is high, and North Macedonia's president Stevo Pendarovski has sent a warning to Ronaldo.
After Italy's defeat last week, Pendarovski tweeted: "Get ready Cristiano Ronaldo. You are next."
Despite the fighting talk, North Macedonia remain underdogs to reach the finals. They are currently ranked 67th in the world while their hosts are 8th.
