The weather is set to be a mixed bag over the next couple of days across the North East as bright spells make way for heavy showers and strong winds.
November doesn't get off to a bad start according to the Met Office, with heavy overnight rain quickly clearing by Tuesday morning to leave a windy day with some isolated showers but plenty of bright spells, with temperatures hitting highs of 13°C. Wednesday will be more unsettled, however, with occasional heavy showers and strong winds of up to 42mph.
This comes after torrential downpours are forecast tonight (Monday 31 October), with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for the North East with a potential of up to 50mm of rain in four hours across the region.
