North East weather: Hour-by-hour forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday according to the Met Office

With August beginning and the school holidays in full swing, people around the North East will be hoping for some sunny weather to enjoy on the region's beaches.

According to the latest Met Office forecast, while the weather thankfully won't reach the scorching heights seen during July's mini-heatwave, the next couple of days will be warm with sunny spells and little chance of rain.

However, anyone hoping for a day of unbroken sunshine will be disappointed. This is what the forecasters at the Met Office said: "Breezy, humid and largely cloudy Tuesday with outbreaks of rain, especially across the Pennines. Some eastern parts drier with brighter spells and feeling warm here. Maximum temperature 23 °C."
