People across the North East may need to hunt out their umbrellas.
Over the next two days, sunny spells are likely to develop into summer showers. Forecasters predict that the temperature in the region will reach a maximum high of 20°C.
According to the Met Office, there will be sunny spells and light winds across much of the area on Wednesday. However the skies are likely to be filled with patchy clouds by lunchtime.

They said: "Sunny spells across much of the region with patchy cloud developing through the day. Remaining dry for most, but with showers developing later."
The weather on Thursday is expected to be cloudy. The Met Office predict that showers are likely.
