Kenton woman banned from contacting ex after stabbing him found hiding by his bins
A woman who was banned from contacting her ex after stabbing him was found hiding behind bins outside his home.
Just three days after Ashley Simpson was given a suspended sentence and a restraining order for plunging a knife into her then-boyfriend's leg and arm because he "stayed on a video call to a female friend for too long", she repeatedly tried to call him on social media.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that the victim didn't answer the calls as he was asleep but found out about them the following morning.
However, just days after that failed attempt to speak to her ex, Simpson turned up at his home address and was spotted by a neighbour hiding behind a wheelie bin. The police attended and arrested Simpson at the scene and she immediately admitted she was banned from being there.

'It's absolutely brilliant': Football legend Mick Harford backs Prostate FC- the new team taking on prostate cancer
Sunderland-born football legend Mick Harford is among those backing an "absolutely brilliant" new lifesaving initiative to take on prostate cancer: a football club called Prostate FC (PFC).
Launched by charity Prostate Cancer UK, PFC is a community of football fans, players and coaches aiming to work together to tackle prostate cancer. The idea is to spread the word about the brutal illness, and encourage anyone who might need to take a test, to get tested early and therefore stop the disease before it becomes more dangerous.
Mick, who played for both the Sunderland and Newcastle United before going on to become a Luton Town legend as a player and coach, is a big fan of the scheme, and has spoken about how he's had massive support from the "football family" on his own cancer journey.

Three men convicted of stealing £120,000 from elderly and vulnerable North East victims through scam
Three men have been convicted of stealing £120,000 from victims through a complex scam.
Detectives discovered in September 2020, that elderly and vulnerable victims throughout the North East and West Yorkshire had been targeted by criminals who were carrying out a version of courier fraud.
The scam involves criminals posing as police officers, bank staff and other figures of authority. They make telephone calls to victims and convince them that their bank accounts have been scammed.
The criminals then ask them to help investigate by supplying "vital evidence" in the form of cash, valuables and bank details. They use the information to steal high sums of money from victims, which includes asking them to send valuables and cash through the post.
Expert fraud officers from the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU) launched an investigation when they became aware of the scam. Their enquiries led them to Mehakdeep Thind, 33, Amadeep Sokhal, 36, and Kulwinder Singh, 25.

Alexander Isak given big hint that he might start Newcastle United's next game
Eddie Howe has indicated that there are "good signs" for the future for Alexander Isak after his positive cameo against Man City.
Despite big calls from fans for Isak to start against City after they were buoyed by his substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup final, Howe left Isak on the bench and stuck with his former Bournemouth star Callum Wilson. But the England international was unable to break his duck.
Howe says he has something to think about regarding a start for Isak against Wolves, and commented: "Yeah, certainly it does. I think he's growing and learning and developing all the time.
"I was pleased with his introduction, I was pleased with all the subs' impact when they came on today. That's a good sign for the future for us."
