The North East is set for a very wet afternoon on Wednesday.
Heavy rain is expected from around 3pm until 8pm, despite a dry start with sunny intervals in the morning. By Thursday, the weather will be drier, though we can expect light showers in the late morning.
The Met Office said: "A cloudier day with spells of rain, particularly through the afternoon and evening where it may turn heavy and prolonged at times. Windy on the coast. Maximum temperature 13°C."
