As the New Year steadily approaches, many will be fleeing to their local supermarkets to stock up on party food, alcoholic beverages, streamers and fireworks - although the weather across the North East may not allow the latter to successfully take off.
That's because experts at the Met Office predict non-stop rain across Newcastle upon Tyne tomorrow, with heavy showers particularly early in the morning and late at night. Nippy temperatures bouncing between 5C and 6C will accompany.
And while New Year's Day looks to be miserable, any precipitation should have cleared by the time January 1 rolls in - clouds are still set to loom over the Toon though bringing somewhat of a breeze with them.
