North East firm launches new drinks to help women through menopause and pregnancy

A North East drinks company has launched a new series of drinks it claims can help support women through the menopause and pregnancy.

Sunderland based Clearly Drinks manufactures its own branded products as well as providing a contract bottling service to other industry brands, and recent investments have included the addition of a £6m canning line. Now the Southwick firm is launching a range of canned which it says have been formulated for women during every life stage. It claims the Perfectly Me range provides “daily health and wellbeing support from within”.

Clearly Drinks is releasing four drinks under the Perfectly Me brand including Menopause, Mums To Be, Everyday Health and Beauty, which contain ingredients such as vitamin D, calcium and zinc, and which it says represent an alternative to taking tablets or powder formulas.

The firm said: “From the early stages of life, through to adulthood, a woman’s body is constantly changing and evolving, and the vitamins and minerals needed at specific life stages are different. For many women it can be difficult to identify exactly what their body’s need, and the idea of taking powders and digesting large, unflavoured tablets is not suitable for everyone.

“Perfectly Me has been uniquely formulated with leading nutritionists to give women the daily vitamins and nutrients they need at each life stage to help maintain inner health and wellbeing, in great tasting drinkable formats.

Susanne Wright, marketing and strategy director at Clearly Drinks said: “We saw that there was a real gap in the market for liquid supplements that make staying healthy easy and enjoyable. The only products available in the health supplement space currently are tablets, and while they are fairly bland and not that appetising, people tend buy them around key life stages, such as pregnancy or menopause.

“Health shouldn’t be a chore or difficult to fit into your routine, so that’s why we developed a range of drinks that taste great and are easy to enjoy as part of a busy schedule. Currently we have Menopause and Pregnancy products available.

“The next to launch will be Beauty and Everyday Health and we have plans to develop out the range even more in the future.”
