Some of the region's top brewers will be coming together in February to serve up another edition of a beer festival which made its debut last year.
All Pints East was a hit upon its launch and the event is now set to make a comeback to North Shields over two days with a line-up out to showcase the best of the North East craft beer scene alongside live music, DJs and street food. Among the breweries planning their pop-ups for the February 17-18 festival will be Newcastle favourites Wylam, Almasty, Full Circle and Northern Alchemy and participating bars will include the Left Luggage Room from Monkseaton and - as a special guest - the Town Mouse Ale House from Newcastle.
Organised by Salt Market Social, the monthly food and drink event at North Shields Fish Quay whose warehouse will host the event, the two days aim to show off and celebrate the diversity and calibre of local craft brews. Beer fans can expect to sample everything from fruity pale ales to rich porters.

Jim Mawdsley, of Salt Market Social and curator of the festival, said: “The first edition of All Pints East was such a blast we just had to do it again. Not only did all the bars and breweries pour amazing beers but the live band and DJs really got the place rocking with a real party atmosphere.
“We are so pleased that everyone wanted to come back. We feel that we are establishing an annual get-together for the Newcastle and North Tyneside craft beer community and it's a perfect opportunity to get together and do what we like best - drink beer!”
Other bars confirmed for the festival are Nord Bottle Shop, Front Street Tap House and Café Amsterdam - all in Whitley Bay - and Enigma Tap in North Shields which will be serving beers from local breweries including Flash House Brewing Co, also in North Shields; The Dog and Rabbit in Whitley Bay and Newcastle's Out There Brewing Co. and Two By Two Brewery and Tap Room.
The bars will be featuring their favourite national breweries too and more brewers are yet to be announced for the festival. Andrew Findlay, co-owner of Left Luggage Rooms, is looking forward to a return visit, saying: "We had a fantastic weekend at All Pints East last year and this year looks like it will be even better.
“The vibe was so relaxed and everyone had an amazing time. This year we'll be pouring some very special beers from our alter ego, Flying Gang and the pure class of Cloudwater."
Dave Stone, of Wylam Brewery, added: "All Pints East is a wonderful celebration of the region's independent beer scene. We can't wait to get back in there."
All Pints East is due to take place over three sessions, running from 5pm-11pm on the Friday and then 12noon-5pm followed by 6-11pm on the Saturday. For tickets, costing £9 - plus a £1 booking fee - which includes a celebratory beer glass, see here. The festival's street food stalls and its music line-up, due to feature up-and-coming bands as well as DJs, are due to be announced in coming days on The Salt Market Social’s Facebook page.
