As Easter approaches, many of us will be gearing up for a double four-day week. Good Friday and Easter Monday will give many lucky workers a much-welcome extra day off.
Many councils across the North East have announced changes to their usual service over the busy period, but a lucky handful of towns and cities across the region won't be affected.
Many families will gather together to celebrate the Easter holidays with a traditional roast or fish and chips on Good Friday. Others will just face an increase in waste as the school holidays begin and everyone is home more often. Find out if you’ll be affected by any bin day changes here.

Will my bin day be affected?
Durham County Council says that there are generally no changes to collections during bank holiday weeks. They ask residents to place their bins out as normal during bank holidays unless otherwise directed, by a notice attached to their bin.
Gateshead Council says that bin collection days that usually take place on a Friday will be moved backwards a day. So any collections due on Good Friday will instead be collected on Saturday, April 8.
Newcastle City Council expects that there will be no disruption or changes to collection days over Easter. Collections will be on your normal day as stated on your bin calender, a replacement of which can be found on the council website by inputting your postcode.
North Tyneside Council says there should be no disruption to collection days other than over the Christmas period. However, if the collection day is a Friday, residents are advised to double-check the council website for last-minute changes.
Northumberland Council calendars show that collections due the week commencing April 10 will be pushed back a day, with Monday collections moved to Tuesday and so forth. To double-check your collection date, search for your postcode on the council website to find your collection calendar.
South Tyneside Council says that bins due for collection on April 7 (Good Friday) will be collected as normal. It advises residents to make sure their bins are out for collection by 7:30am.
Sunderland City Council bosses say there will be no change to bin collections over the Easter weekend in Sunderland. All collections due on Good Friday will take place as normal.
