Harry Potter fans in the North East can get a special afternoon tea delivered to their door this month, featuring a range of sweet and savoury treats inspired by the iconic fantasy series.
Curiously Wicked, the makers of ‘Tea Who Shall Not Be Named’ based in the village of New Hartley, Northumberland, specialise in delivering luxury afternoon tea straight to doorsteps across the North East.
They promise that this special selection, based on the popular books and film franchise that tell the story of 'The Boy Who Lived', will be “the perfect accompaniment to a magical afternoon in”.

As well as the traditional afternoon tea staples like cheese scones and finger sandwiches, Tea Who Shall Not Be Named is packed with plenty of clever nods to the wizarding world.
It includes a mint chocolate brownie ‘spell book’, a crunchy chocolate ‘Dumbledore’s wand’, and ‘Harry’s glasses’ made from shortbread.
Other treats on the menu that will look familiar to fans include winged Golden Snitch truffles on top of a salted caramel torte, and a Marauder's Map made from edible paper.
There are more additions that will please even the most diehard Potterheads, from ‘Mandrake’ cheesecake with edible soil made to look like the magical screaming plants of the wizarding world, to shots of butterbeer - the creamy drink enjoyed by characters throughout the books.
Even the scones have a fantastical touch, dyed blue and dubbed ‘Moaning Myrtle’s mouldy scones’, as do the macarons, which are topped with an eyeball decoration to earn the name ‘Mad Eye Moody macarons’.
The creators behind the selection are encouraging anyone placing orders for the afternoon tea to go all out by getting dressed up in Hogwarts attire and throwing a full Potter-themed party to enjoy their indulgent finger food.
Curiously Wicked are renowned for the unique designs of their afternoon teas and celebration cakes, with a quirky menu that changes each month.
The talented team behind the business started as chocolatiers back in 2009, becoming the only independent business in the North East to win an Academy of Chocolate award just two years later.
They have run three tea rooms over the years, including a Downton Abbey-themed tea room in Morpeth until 2013, but began working from home to create their signature treats last April and “haven’t looked back” since, according to owner Krystyna Dodds.
“Our cakes and afternoon teas keep us really busy, and we adore what we do,” says Krystyna.
Customers can order the limited edition Tea Who Shall Not Be Named to be delivered to their door on 29 or 30 January. It costs £52 for two people, £100 for four, or a special offer of £145.08 for six.
