North Coast 500 farm and accommodation hits the market

Borlum House Farm has been placed on the market, at offers over £975,000.

The working farm is also on the North Coast 500 route and has two recently-completed self catering cottages, with planning consent for two more.

The main house has been modernised and is in an elevated position above the village of Reay, 11 miles from Thurso.

The surrounding gardens are partially walled and there are areas of lawn, trees and hedging. Extending to 78 acres, the grounds are enclosed with either traditional stone walling or post and wire fencing.

The land comprises a mix of open paddock land, as well as areas of rougher ground. To accommodate the herd of Highland cows, there is a cow shed and holding pen.

There are a range of traditional stone-built outbuildings and equestrian facilities, including a 30m x 50m riding arena with post and rail fencing and a sand and chipped-rubber base.

Estate agent Joanne Stennett, based in Bell Ingram's Beauly office, commented: “Substantial properties such as Borlum House, in such a beautiful location, rarely present themselves.

“Combining a working farm with a self-catering business, this is an ideal business opportunity, especially so well located close to the route of the North Coast 500.”
