North Belfast staff and young customer left shaken as 'man with knife robs shop'

Staff members and a young customer have been left shaken after a man 'armed with a knife' allegedly robbed a shop in North Belfast.

The incident happened before 9pm at a shop on Alexandra Park Avenue on Thursday night, January 27.

Police say the male demanded money from staff before making off on foot with a sum of cash.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "It was reported at around 8.55pm that a short time earlier a man armed with a knife entered a shop on Alexandra Park Avenue and demanded money from the staff.

"The male made off with a sum of cash on foot, the staff members and a young customer were left uninjured but badly shaken by the incident.

"He is described as being in his 30s, 5’11” in height of slim build, wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit bottoms and a blue mask.

"Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number CW 1849 of 27/01/22."
