North Belfast crash sees woman in her 80s hospitalised with 'serious injuries'

A woman in her 80s has been hospitalised with 'serious injuries' after a North Belfast crash.

Police say the two vehicle crash happened at Alexandra Park Avenue on Sunday, February 6.

It's reported to have happened at a recycling centre in the area and was reported to police at 2.15pm.

PSNI Inspector Irwin said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a woman, aged in her 80s, was left with serious injuries following the collision and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

"Police are appealing to anyone who was in the Alexandra Park Avenue Recycling Centre and who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage to contact them on 101 quoting reference 1024 of 06/02/22."

Meanwhile, drivers are being told to expect delays following a crash on the M1 on Monday morning.

The eastbound carriageway of the motorway has been reduced to one lane following the incident between Lisburn, Saintfield and Black's Road.

It is not known if there have been any injuries as a result of the collision.

Police have warned drivers that delays are to be expected.
