A non-swimmer was saved from an Edinburgh beach by the hero life boats team at South Queensferry after getting stranded on some rocks.
The incident took place on Saturday September 24 at Gypsy Brae Beach in the Granton area of the city and involved a non-swimmer getting stranded on some rocks while paddling in the sea.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution based at South Queensferry explained that the individual was left stranded after the tide began to rise on Birnie Rocks off Gypsy Brae. The person who was unable to swim then made the right call by staying where they were and seeking help.
When receiving the report the lifeboat team jumped into action and raced to the scene assisting the person onto a lifeboat and then safely returning them to shore.
The RNLI team wrote: "Recently, the voluntary crew at Queensferry RNLI were tasked to a person cut off by the rising tide on Birnie Rocks, off Gypsy Brae.
"The stranded person, who was unable to swim, took the right course of action and did not try to get ashore themselves. The 'Jimmie Cairncross' lifeboat was able to proceed close enough to drop two crew near to the scene, and assist the person onto the lifeboat. Best speed was made to Granton harbour to meet South Queensferry Coastguard for the handover."
They added: "The UK coastline is always changing throughout the day with the tide coming in and out. Keep a constant look out around you, and when exploring ensure your escape route is always safe and clear. Stay safe."
This comes just a week after a confident wild swimmer was tragically killed while swimming at an East Lothian beach after getting into difficulties. The coast guards and police attended but sadly the Edinburgh man was pronounced dead at the scene.
