Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes isn’t known for his prodigious power — up until Thursday night, he had hit just 32 home runs in 528 games in his career. He had exactly zero in 2023.
But somehow, former MLB shortstop Nomar Garciaparra — Nomardamus? — decided to predict that Barnes would hit his first home run of the season on Thursday against the Milwaukee Brewers. No way that was happening, right?
Except IT DID! And Garciaparra had a camera on him when he saw his prediction come true. His reaction is just so perfect and funny and well-earned — that’s not an easy one to get:
