Noma Projects is coming to London

If you don’t think you can shell out on a trip to Copenhagen before the closure of Noma 2.0 next year, fear not, because a taste of Rene Redzepi’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants winning destination is set to arrive right here in London in less than a month.

On Sunday 10th September, Santiago Lastra, behind Mexican inspired restaurant Kol (which recently won the 22nd spot on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards list), will collaborate with Chef and Creative Director of Noma Projects, Thomas Frebel, on ‘An interactive standing event’ at Lastra’s restaurant in Marylebone, behind Oxford Street.

Er, what does that mean? Apparently, the experience involves enjoying five dishes and two drinks served to guests standing, all imagined by both chefs using boundary-pushing Noma Projects products, a range created by Frebel with Noma’s renowned, pioneering fermentation methods at its core.

Lastra, who is known for having worked on Redzepi’s Noma Mexico project back in 2017, took to Instagram to say he’s thrilled. “Beyond honored and excited to host @thomasfrebel [Thomas Frebel] and the team of @nomaprojects in our home next month. @reneredzepinoma [Rene Redzeppi] and @nomacph had been a massive inspiration for our work always, working and learning from them was the reason I moved to London to open Kol.”

Taking place between 12:30 and 18:00, tickets for the event are £95 per person and go on sale via the link below at 12pm on 20th August, and each attendee will be able to take home two of the Noma Projects products used in the dishes served.
