Nolan Smith honors injured Georgia, Philadelphia Eagles teammate

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Nolan Smith honored injured Eagles teammate Nakobe Dean in the NFC divisional round. Smith ran onto the field carrying Nakobe Dean’s jersey ahead of the Eagles game against the Los Angeles Rams.

“I am my brother(‘s) keeper,” said Smith in a tribute to Dean after the game. Smith and Dean played college football together at the University of Georgia. The defensive duo won a national championship together at Georgia in 2022.

Smith and the Eagles are looking to advance to the Super Bowl. Philadelphia beat the Rams, 28-22, to advance to the NFC championship game against the Washington Commanders.

Smith recorded four tackles, one sack and forced a fumble in the Eagles’ win over Los Angeles.

Smith and Dean are two of six Georgia Bulldogs on the Eagles. The other Dawgs on the Eagles are defensive tackle Jordan Davis, cornerback Kelee Ringo, safety Lewis Cine and defensive tackle Jalen Carter.
