Noel Gallagher slams 'coward' Liam for being 'disingenuous' over Oasis reunion

Noel Gallagher has branded his brother Liam a "coward" for not calling him amid Oasis reunion rumours, saying it's "not fair" on the fans.

The Britpop star, 55, says he brother doesn't seem to "have a plan" as he still waits on a call from Liam.

Noel has accused Liam of "getting peoples hopes up" of a huge reunion, when no contact has been made between them.

Liam has since hit back at Noel's comments, leaving many fans thinking there is no hope of an Oasis comeback.

"He is forever going on about it, you would have thought by now he would have some kind of plan. If he has got a plan, he doesn't have to speak to me, I know he won't speak to me he is a coward," Noel said.

"He should get some of his people to call my people and say 'look this is what we're thinking' and then we will have a conversation about it. Until then he is being a little bit disingenuous."

Speaking on TalkSport, Noel added: "The thing with Liam is you read these things every day and he is saying 'it's happening', so he gets peoples hopes up all over the world.

"Then I get asked about it and I have to look like I am dropping a big foot on it."

When asked why Liam hasn't called him, Noel replied: "I suspect that he doesn't want to do it but just likes saying that he does want to do it. He has got his own thing going on, he is selling out Knebworth and all that kind of thing.

"Why does he want to share it with me for. I'm cool with what I'm doing, he's smashing it.

"Why be disingenuous with people, you know it's not happening. If you have got a plan, give me a ring."

He continued: "I am open to a phone call, a conversation. Other than that, stop playing with the kids, it's not fair on the fans. It's not fair."

Liam took to Twitter to respond to Noel's comments and said: "I don’t wish AIDS on people I turn up and play the MUSIC for the people of MANCHESTER who have just had a terror attack while you sit on your dingy sipping champagne and you got the audacity to call me a COWARD sit down you [bell emoji] end."

The fans were not impressed with Liam's comeback as one replied: "Reunion is off I take it?"

Liam quipped back: "Why say that."

"He’s right though. You could contact him in 1 second but instead post teasers on here for likes that Oasis are getting back together. Just get on with it if you’re serious, because it’s boring now," another commented.

The Oasis star replied: "Is it."

"I take it you won’t be phoning him then," asked someone else.

"Reunion dead in the water," wrote a fan to which Liam replied: "Reunion he hates oasis fans he’s full of s**t."

The iconic Britpop band existed from 1991 until 2009 - breaking up when 55-year-old Noel and 50-year-old Liam dramatically fell out and decided to walk away from each other.

In recent months, there have been growing hopes that the brothers would hit the road or release new music as Oasis reaches a landmark year with the 30th anniversary of their debut album.

Just last week Blur frontman Damon Albarn predicted the two will reunite in the future and has "put money" on it.

"I can guarantee they're going to reform. In fact, I've put money on it," Damon said about the brothers.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "They're brothers and it would be wonderful to see them reconcile."
