Noel Gallagher has revealed that he moved into a swanky £2500-a-night suite at London's Claridge's Hotel following his split from Sara MacDonald.
The former Oasis hitmaker, 56, moved out of his family home after separating from the PR executive last January following 12 years of marriage. He moved into the Mayfair hotel while waiting for his Maida Vale flat to be refurbished.
Speaking to the Matt Morgan Patreon Podcast, he shared: "I had some proper f***ing good times there. I lived there for most of last year, I was there three or four nights a week."
Claridge’s Hotel, which hosted the Evening Standard’s Theatre Awards late last year, has long been a favourite among celebrities, notably the Rolling Stones, who filmed their 2020 music video for Scarlet starring Paul Mescal there.
The five-star hotel hasn’t only housed musicians but Hollywood icons, including Katharine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Yul Brynner, Bing Crosby and Spencer Tracy, who adopted the exclusive spot as their London residence.
Famously, Kate Moss celebrated her 30th birthday at Claridge's while Jade Jagger and Lulu Guinness described the hotel as their "ultimate treat" where rooms start from £930-per-night and their luxury, Mayfair Terrace Suite, starts from £3140-a-night.
Gallagher’s comments come as he also opened up about his difficult divorce from ex-wife MacDonald - who he met in 2000 and shares sons Donovan, 16, and Sonny, 14.
He said the pandemic and Covid lockdowns had put an irrevocable strain on their relationship.
Reports suggest the rocker paid MacDonald £20 million in their divorce settlement. She is also reported to have taken their £8 million mansion.
Gallagher spoke about the freedom of being a single man in London, and joked about cycling past his ex-wife’s house.
“I can get on the bike and go up to King's Cross, and go down to the canal at Longfield Road,” he said in the same interview.
“And get on the canal outside my wonderful ex-wife's house and give her a little wave, and go, 'You didn't take this from me!'"
Gallagher added: "But the pace of London is f***ing great at the minute, I'm loving it."
