Noel Gallagher Declines Oasis Anniversary Tour Offer, Liam Continues Solo

Liam Gallagher is gearing up for a tour later this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe, released in 1994. Despite hopes of a reunion with his brother Noel, Liam revealed in a recent interview that Noel declined to join the tour, turning down a substantial offer in the process.

The proposed tour, which Liam described as significant, was turned down by Noel, citing personal reasons such as his ongoing divorce from ex-wife Sara MacDonald. Liam expressed understanding of Noel's decision but emphasized his own commitment to the tour, stating, 'I'll do the Definitely Maybe thing and have a nice time without him.'

Definitely Maybe marked the beginning of Oasis' successful career, reaching the top of the U.K. charts, achieving platinum status in the U.S., and producing hit singles like 'Supersonic,' 'Shakermaker,' 'Live Forever,' and 'Cigarettes & Alcohol.'

Liam announced the anniversary tour in October, where he will perform the album in its entirety at each tour date. This tour will be the first time Liam has performed Definitely Maybe since Oasis disbanded in 2009. The tour is scheduled to kick off on June 2 in Sheffield and conclude on June 27 in Manchester.

Despite fans' inquiries about Noel potentially joining the tour, Liam confirmed that Noel had been asked but declined the invitation. Looking ahead to the 25th anniversary of Oasis' 1995 album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? next year, Liam expressed uncertainty about Noel's participation, stating, 'It’s down to the universe. It’ll happen when it happens, it’s not in our hands anymore.'

While the Gallagher brothers' differences continue to keep them apart on stage, Liam remains enthusiastic about celebrating the nostalgia of Oasis' iconic albums with fans during the upcoming tour.
