Noel Gallagher claims he’ll be 'lucky' to reach 60

Noel Gallagher has shared a rather grim outlook on his future, claiming he’ll be “lucky” to reach the age of 60 if he doesn’t rein in his drinking habits.

The 57-year-old High Flying Birds and ex-Oasis rocker, who once claimed he didn’t want to live past 75, seems to be rethinking his stance as he faces the realities of his alcohol consumption.

In a conversation with Matt Morgan on his subscription-only podcast, the former Oasis singer made a stark comparison between himself and 81-year-old rock legend Sir Mick Jagger.

Despite Jagger’s seemingly boundless energy on stage, Gallagher isn’t convinced that the Rolling Stones frontman is a model to follow.

He said: “Well, I mean, they’ve got to be pushing, what, 70 now, innit? I mean, the way I feel f**king now, I mean I’ll be f***ing lucky if I make it to 60.

“Just because Jagger is mincing around at 103 doesn’t mean everyone can.”

The British musician also opened up about noticing some recent weight gain, which he attributes to his love of a good drink, confessing: “I could do with getting off the booze, let’s put it that way.”

This isn't the first time he has spoken about his health challenges.

Last month, he revealed that he’s set to undergo surgery for his “bad knees,” another sign that the rockstar lifestyle may be taking its toll.

“I’ve got bad knees actually. I’ve got to have an operation on my f*****g knee,” he mentioned on an earlier podcast episode. Although he didn’t specify the cause, his brother Liam has previously discussed arthritis issues, hinting that he might be facing similar genetic troubles.

Meanwhile, the prospect of an Oasis reunion continues to linger in the air.

Liam’s 23-year-old son Gene recently fueled the rumours, offering fans a glimmer of hope that the iconic band might come together once more.

He told the Sunday Times Style: “I get the feeling my dad wants it, too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints.

“I’d love to see my dad reunite with Uncle Noel, but it has nothing to do with me.”
