Noel Fielding is well-loved as the zany, quirky host of The Great British Bake Off.
But his comedy career began decades ago and really took off when he created The Mighty Boosh with Julian Barratt in the early 2000s.
Despite this, plenty of Bake Off fans go wild every year when Noel's age circulates on Twitter, with many shocked he isn't in his 30s.
Last year, there was uproar during the series as the bakers took on a 1980s challenge, and Noel made a joke that referenced '80s kids show Emu's All Live Pink Windmill.
He then added that you would need to be "over 45 to get it".
Viewers looked up his real age, which was 47 at the time, and they simply couldn't believe what they were reading.
"NOEL FIELDING IS FORTY F**KING SEVEN!?" demanded one.
"Noel is 47?! Am I the only one who is in shock at this revelation?" wondered another.
"Noel is 47! I actually had to Google that to double check!" exclaimed a third.
But it was true, Noel was born in 1973, and is now 48.
It might come as a surprise then, that he reportedly dated Pixie Geldoff, daughter of Bob Geldoff, who is 17 years younger than him.
Pixie was 16 at the time and Noel was 33 - but he denied that he was dating Pixie.
Pixie, whose rocker dad starred in the Boomtown Rats and helped to create the Live 8 fundraising concerts, was still in school when she was linked to Noel.
The Evening Standard reported back in 2007 that Pixie had been spotted "canoodling" with Noel, and "couldn't take her eyes off him".
They were also spotted looking cosy two years later in 2009, too, but Noel insisted they were "just friends" and denied they were ever in a relationship.
Speaking at the Galaxy British Book Awards, Noel said: "It’s just these things are… like fairytales aren’t they?"

He went on: "We’re just friends that’s all, but you can’t be friends in this country without someone booking a church and trying to get you married."
But again in 2012, Noel and Pixie were reportedly spotted kissing at a nightclub, while a source told the Daily Record that Noel's then-girlfriend Dee Plum was furious.
"Dee is getting to the end of her tether," said the insider.
"She's suspicious of Noel's relationship with Pixie and the pair of them going on wild nights on the town without her only fuels her resentment."
Noel and Pixie never responded to these claims.
Now, Noel has been with his current partner, Lliana Bird, for 11 years and they have welcomed two daughters together.
Lliana, also know as Birdy or Bird, is a radio presenter who currently presents the Sunday evening show on Radio X and and has appeared as a guest commentator on Sky News and BBC Breakfast.
She writes for the Huffington Post, has written a book called The Mice Who Sing for Sex, and presents a weekly podcast entitled Geek Chic's Weird Science
Lliana has her own production company called Bird & Be and also co-founded charities Help Refugees and The Kindly Collective.
In 2018, Lliana gave birth to their first daughter, Dali, who was named after the artist Salvador Dali.
A source told The Sun: "Noel thought the name was a perfect fit.
"Salvador has played a big part in his life, so it’s no surprise to his friends he’s named a baby after him. It’s a cute name and really suits the tot."
Lliana had confirmed her pregnancy with an Instagram photo where her baby bump could be seen under her gym clothes.
"Thank you @hollyactive for keeping (well, getting) me fit and active," Lliana captioned the post.
"Grown to absolutely love boxing this past year and Holly has been the driving force behind that.
"I’m literally one of the naturally laziest people I know, but even i’ve been loving the boxing once or twice a week and if i can do it you defo can!!! #preggoboxing #badassbumps."
Their second daughter, Iggy, was born in August 2020.
Lliana, 40, announced the happy news alongside an Instagram snap of four spiders made from mic covers and pipe cleaners.
"The Bird Fielding family of 4 (finally figured out what to do with all my old mic covers!) #halloweencrafts," she wrote.
Asked by a follower which one represented which family members, Lliana confirmed: "Noel is pink, Dali is orange, I’m grey and Iggy is red."
When messages of congratulations flooded in, Lliana replied: "Thank you she's a sweet bean."
Noel tends to keep his family off his social media, but Lliana couldn't help but post Dali's adorable creations after she was inspired by her dad's show, Bake Off.
The radio host posted snaps of the youngster's stellar baking efforts with a Halloween theme including autumn leaves and what looks like a pumpkin.
"Dali’s entry for bake off 2021 going swimmingly then..." she joked.
And the star also recently posted a sweet snap of her and Noel dressed up in costumes, which she captioned: "Mum & dad x".
